Be prepared

Before your
appointment.

A few things to know before we meet.

What should I bring?+

Bring your complete document and a current, acceptable government-issued photo ID. Common examples include a state-issued driver license or identification card, U.S. passport, or other identification acceptable under applicable notary requirements. Additional signers and required witnesses should also be prepared to present acceptable identification.

If you do not have standard identification availableContact Amity before your appointment. Depending on the circumstances and applicable requirements, another permitted method of identification may be available. Eligibility will be reviewed before the notarization proceeds.

Do you provide legal advice?+

No. A notary public is not an attorney and cannot choose documents, explain legal consequences, or provide legal advice. Please contact a licensed attorney for legal questions.

Can you come to me?+

Yes. Mobile appointments are available throughout Houston and surrounding areas. The travel fee is based on your location and will be confirmed before the appointment.

How much does a notary appointment cost?+

Texas statutory notary fees apply to notarial acts. Mobile appointments start at $50, with final pricing based on location, timing, and appointment requirements. Remote online notarization and loan signing pricing is confirmed before booking.

Can every document be notarized online?+

Eligibility can depend on the document, receiving agency, and other requirements. Send the document type and destination when requesting your appointment so the appropriate option can be discussed.

What identification do I need for Remote Online Notarization?+

Remote Online Notarization uses additional identity-verification procedures through the secure online notary platform. Eligible signers will receive instructions for completing the required identity and credential verification before the online notarization.

Should I sign my document before the appointment?+

Unless specifically instructed otherwise for your document, do not sign any signature requiring notarization before meeting with the notary. Other portions of your document may be completed beforehand as appropriate.
